information for the 2012-2013 Season
Incoming
Freshmen / new to the team tryouts:

Saturday, May 19th

7:00 – 9:00 AM

Tom Muehlenbeck Center

Expectations:
o
Swimmers need to have a competitive swimming background
o
Need to bring competition suit, cap, & goggles
o
Swimmers will be swimming a competitive practice of about
2,000 yards
o
After the tryout the swimmer will either be invited to
attend the All-Team tryouts or not

Tryouts

Date:
Monday – Friday, August 13th
– 17th
·
Time:
6:30 – 9:00 AM

Advanced
swimmers*
- 6:30 – 7:45
o
Developmental
swimmers*
- 7:45 – 9:00
o
*
Determined by the coaches either at current swimmer’s end
of the year evaluation or at the new swimmer’s tryout in
May

Expectations:
o
Any swimmer wishing to be a member of the 2012 – 2013 team
must attend
o
If a swimmer is unable to attend for a valid reason the
swimmer may move their tryout to the first week of school.
However,
this will only be in extreme circumstances and MUST BE
APPROVED BY COACH JONES PRIOR TO MONDAY, AUGUST 13TH
o
Swimmers will participate in full practices as well as time
trials that will determine if the swimmer makes the 2012 –
2013 team and if they will be placed on Varsity or Junior
Varsity.
